Salesforce Org Health-Check Checklist
A practical, no-email-required checklist to audit your Salesforce org across six areas. Work through it yourself, print it for your team, or have us run it for you.
Security & access
- Profiles and permission sets follow least-privilege access
- No unused admin accounts or stale users with broad access
- Sharing rules and org-wide defaults match your data model
- MFA enforced; login IP ranges and session settings reviewed
- Field-level security audited for sensitive fields
Automation health
- One automation framework per object (no clashing Flows + triggers)
- No deactivated-but-lingering Workflow Rules / Process Builders
- Flows have fault paths and sensible error handling
- Apex triggers are bulk-safe and logic lives in handler classes
- Scheduled jobs and batch processes are documented and monitored
Data quality
- Duplicate rules and matching rules are configured and active
- Required fields and validation rules prevent bad data at entry
- Stale and orphaned records have an archival strategy
- Picklist values are standardised (no free-text where it matters)
- Key reports reconcile against your source of truth
Performance & limits
- Apex test coverage is healthy (and tests actually assert behaviour)
- No recurring governor-limit errors in logs
- Large objects use skinny tables / indexes where appropriate
- Integrations use bulk patterns instead of row-by-row callouts
- Page load times on key record pages are acceptable
User adoption
- Lightning pages are tailored by app, record type and profile
- Reps have the reports and dashboards they actually use
- Unused fields and tabs are hidden to reduce clutter
- In-app guidance or training exists for new features
- A feedback loop captures user pain points
AI-readiness
- Data is clean and structured enough to ground AI on
- Edition and licensing support Agentforce / Einstein features
- Clear, narrow first use case identified for an AI agent
- Guardrails and human-in-the-loop points are defined
- Success metrics agreed before any rollout
