Agentforce Field Service and Operations in Summer '26: Autonomous Scheduling and AI in the Field

Salesforce Field Service updates in Summer '26 — now Agentforce Field Service and Operations, with scheduling agents, autonomous scheduling for prospects, Visual Remote Assistant upgrades, and natural-language timesheets.

Note the rename up front: Field Service is now Agentforce Field Service and Operations. And it earns the name — Summer '26 puts AI agents into scheduling, customer outreach, and even timesheets. Here's what dispatchers, mobile workers, and field service leaders should know.

Scheduling agents move into the new Agentforce Builder

Scheduling is the heart of field service, and it's going agentic:

  • Create Field Service Scheduling Agents in the new Agentforce Builder — bringing scheduling agents onto the same modern builder as the rest of Agentforce.
  • Expand autonomous scheduling to prospect customers — autonomous scheduling isn't just for existing customers anymore, opening the door to booking prospects automatically.
  • Extend the reach of the Scheduling Agent to email — the agent can now handle scheduling over email, meeting customers in the channel they prefer.

For high-volume operations, autonomous scheduling that reaches prospects and works over email is a real capacity multiplier.

Faster setup for scheduling and operations

Summer '26 streamlines getting field service live:

  • Guided setup for the New Scheduling Console, built for high-performance scheduling.
  • Setup optimized for Agentforce Builder scheduling agent creation.
  • Geographic-based flows triggered by real-time technician locations.
  • Timesheet templates for standardized workforce reporting.
  • A specialized Residential Solution for high-volume workflows.

The goal is explicit: eliminate custom engineering and streamline deployment.

Smarter workforce scheduling

  • Pull rooms, gear, and people together for every appointment.
  • Let guests and registered users manage their own bookings.
  • Set repeating shift schedules so coverage stays predictable.
  • Spread appointments evenly across the team so no one is overloaded.
  • Updated Field Service Maps data (rolling out from June 10, 2026) for more efficient, reliable point-to-point predictive routing based on the latest road network changes.

Visual Remote Assistant (VRA) upgrades

Remote support gets more capable and secure:

  • Seamlessly switch modes within a VRA session for uninterrupted support.
  • Route VRA via Omni-Channel to streamline remote support.
  • Support secure multi-app sessions and manage session participants for better collaboration and security.

AI-powered timesheets in the field

One of the most practical mobile wins: field technicians with an Agentforce license can edit and delete timesheets using natural-language commands — for example, "Delete all drive time entries for today's timesheet." Bulk-update fields, change categories, or remove entries through a single conversation. Crew leads can also manage crew timesheets directly in the Field Service mobile app, with automatic idle-time entries, multi-day timesheet creation, and a pull-down gesture to refresh data.

Pre-work briefs

Reps get better preparation with customizable pre-work briefs and interactive pre-work briefs to resolve issues faster before they ever arrive on site.

The bottom line

Agentforce Field Service and Operations in Summer '26 is about doing more with the same crew: agents that schedule autonomously (even for prospects, even over email), faster setup, better routing, and natural-language timesheets that kill a chunk of mobile-worker admin. If scheduling capacity is your constraint, start with the scheduling agents.
